Sunflower II

Second attempt at painting sunflowers with watercolors.

I had a hard time finding the right tone for the orange in the center, but I got it!


I learned a lot about color perception and ended up using PowerPoint to help decipher colors. That and internet tutorials were helpful to figure out how to shade the petals.




Now with a background! I'm much happier with this technique compared to the other one I did.


So that was fun :). Now I need to think of something else to paint.

Wow. I love to see how it progresses. Looks great. I couldn't find gel sticks at Michael's but got something like watercolor pencils. Saving them for summer. Minor's got two more weeks of school.

You might like the pencils more than the crayons because they are cleaner. Those crayons flake And I have spots of colors on my socks.

I’m done with my H.S. and the boys will be done next week. Soooo done.

I’ve been thinking about doing something fandom-thingies.
I’m not sure I can paint people without making them look like aliens, but that might work if I’m going for an AU. ;)

If you have any suggestions/inspiration for still life stuff (even anthropomorphic things), I’d be interested. Brainstorming is helpful. :)
